Toastmasters
is a great way to learn and practice speaking, presentation, and
leadership skills. There are more details at the Toastmasters
International website.
The best way to get an idea of what Toastmasters
is all about is to visit our club and sit in on a meeting. Visitors
are always welcome, and we’ll
be glad to answer any questions you may have about the program.
As a guest, you’ll
not be asked to participate in the meeting, but are welcome to
volunteer if you would like.
Athens Toastmasters was formed in 1962 and
has been going strong ever since. All of us learn from each other
and give each other ideas to consider. Members proceed at their own
pace, and do not give their first speech or participate in a meeting
until they feel they are ready. Athens Toastmasters is one of about 200 clubs
in Georgia. Several times a year, there are opportunities to compete in speech
contests, attend conferences, and learn from individuals in other clubs.
You are welcome to visit our next meeting and see what
Toastmasters is all about.
